Choose a manual
Each person who works with DigiFIR uses one app. Pick the manual for your role.
User manuals
| Manual | For | The app lets you | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citizen | Anyone who wants to report an offence | File a complaint, sign it, track it, check whether a police document is genuine | |
| Police | Duty officers, SHOs, investigating officers, malkhana in-charges | Decide complaints, register FIRs, run investigations, handle evidence, file final reports | |
| Forensic laboratory | Reception staff and analysts of a State Forensic Science Laboratory | Receive parcels, examine, seal reports, hand exhibits back | |
| Magistrate | Judicial magistrates | Decide duplicates and closure reports, take cognizance, record orders, ask for status reports |
All four phone apps lock the same way. See App lock.
Admin manuals
| Manual | For |
|---|---|
| Registrar | Each institution's registrars, who enrol officials' phones in person, keep the roster and revoke keys |
| Officials' console | Auditors, registrars, magistrates, court staff, SHOs and supervisors using the desktop explorer and admin desk |
Before you use a real app
- The apps on the store run against a DigiFIR backend. Each app also has a demo mode that runs entirely on the phone and sends nothing to anyone. Demo and test data lists the sample data.
- Officials' phones must be enrolled in person by their registrar before first use. There are no passwords.
- Roles and privileges lists exactly what each role may do and see.
